2005-08-27 - 10:32 a.m. I've been up at Carol's house for the last five weeks, minding her kitties. She has 2 Russian Blues, brother and sister (neutered). They are very sane and were plainly raised by cat-lovers. The boy, Raku, is the extrovert. He expects everyone will love him, so he goes directly to people and rubs up against their ankles. Sasha is more shy, but she gets friendly when she feels comfortable. Raku has made a practice of following me to bed and asking for "cuddle time." Sometimes Sasha tags along, too. She likes a few ear-rubs, but doesn't seem to be into long and involved petting. She'll come over within arm's reach for a few minutes, and then move away. Occasionally, she will settle on the corner of the bed, but she generally hops down and heads off, intent on her own business. It has been hot this summer, but the last week has been bearable. I turned off the air conditioner then, as we didn't need it. Earlier, it was over 30 degrees Celsius (86 F.) even at night and, some days, the smog was tough to take. However, last weekend, a lovely Siberian high pressure system blew into town. During the week, we had a good ol' nor'easter. These cleared the air considerably and gave us some blessed relief. ************more later -- I've an appointment to meet************ Happy Trails!!!
